The Fantastic New Experiences in the
Arenal Volcano Region

With over twenty years of experience as a travel agent, I have discovered that one of the most incredible aspects of this profession is how it pushes us beyond our comfort zones to explore and recommend beautiful destinations and experiences to our passengers.

During my recent visit to La Fortuna in the region of the Arenal Volcano, I had the opportunity to try out several different tours, all of which I can wholeheartedly recommend. What makes these tours particularly special is that they are still relatively unknown, resulting in low crowds and visitation—an ideal scenario. To effectively sell and promote them, it's important for us to experience these tours ourselves since they offer visually and sensorially captivating experiences.

Let's start with my personal favorite:
The Children's Eternal Forest

Despite being located in a remote area near La Fortuna, we enjoyed a comfortable journey in a four-wheel drive vehicle that took us to the entrance.

The Children's Eternal Forest is the largest private reserve in Central America and was generously donated piece by piece by children from various countries, which is how it acquired its name.

While it is known for its station in Monteverde, the Pocosol area showcases one of the most pristine and mesmerizing forest landscapes I have ever seen in Costa Rica. The trails are easily crossable, and the highlights include a picturesque lagoon, perfect spots for picnics, and the option to kayak and swim amidst the forest.

Imagine being in a stunning canyon one moment and then finding yourself surrounded by clouds as you step into a cloud forest—it's a truly magical and mystical experience.

The mountains encompass an immense and impeccable forest, providing a stark contrast to the bustling atmosphere of Fortuna.

Walking amidst this breathtaking panorama, with its spectacular lagoon and trees displaying countless shades of green, feels as though life itself is gently calling us to step away from screens and fully embrace the richness of these experiences.

The solitude and complete harmony of the environment make this activity an unforgettable event in one's life.

Here are some tips for this tour:

The journey takes approximately one hour and twenty minutes.
You will travel in the comfort of luxury 4x4 vehicles.
The tour is highly personalized, so you can expect an intimate experience.
It's advisable to bring a poncho in case of rain and sturdy hiking boots for the trails.
Lunch will be a delightful picnic amidst the area's natural beauty.

A LITTLE ABOUT THE AMAZING NEW experiences

First and foremost, it's important to note that this is not your typical chocolate tour. It takes place in a real organic chocolate factory situated in the plains of San Carlos.

While they do not grow cocoa on the property, the factory is surrounded by fruit trees, which adds a diverse and colorful touch to the surroundings. Their cocoa seeds are sourced from the Caribbean region and undergo minimal manipulation to ensure a high-quality end product.

The organization Seed to Chocolate Bar coordinates with a limited number of suppliers to maintain the purity of their chocolate. During the tour, guests also have the opportunity to plant a fruit tree, leaving behind a positive impact that can be witnessed as the tree bears abundant fruit in the years to come.

One of the aspects I truly appreciated about this experience was the knowledgeable guide who skillfully imparts their expertise to the participants.

Combining Night Wings with the Rainforest Chocolate tour is a fantastic option, as it offers a captivating exploration of bats and helps foster a valuable understanding of these creatures. The tour thoroughly covers the various functions of bats, their significance, and delves into scientific aspects.

During Night Wings, the bats are carefully captured and handled exclusively by the specialist guide, ensuring the safety and comfort of the participants before they are released back into their natural habitat. I highly recommend this tour, especially for families with children aged seven or eight and above.

Moving on to Monkey Park, a true haven of forest surrounded by agriculture, where wildlife roams freely, and guests have the opportunity to observe them up close.

While exploring the self-guided trail, you may encounter not only monkeys (I had the pleasure of seeing the howler monkeys up close!) but also various species of frogs, including the mesmerizing red-eyed marvel and the small yet vibrant blue jeans.

Colorful butterflies and birds add to the enchanting atmosphere.

The lunch at Monkey Park is truly fantastic—a fusion of organic, natural ingredients with international flair, resulting in a delectable blend of flavors that can be appreciated as gourmet cuisine. This experience combines luxury, excellence, and rustic countryside charm.

This is an activity that stands out on its own. It is specifically designed for those who are immersed in the ever-emerging search for peace and a close connection with their inner selves. This is a highly sensory tour, and it's important to approach it with an open mind, recognizing that it's more than just a tour—it's a therapeutic experience. Upon arrival, the guide and owner of the park led us to a circle where we participated in an insightful activity that revealed our individual awareness about our lives. It felt incredibly privileged to partake in this activity.

The journey continued as we were guided to a small house with a platform dedicated to meditation or yoga. There, we enjoyed a session of singing bowls, an experience I had never encountered before. I was truly impressed by the intense energy created by the vibrations of the bowls, evoking a multitude of sensations within the body. The food provided during the tour is in perfect harmony with the overall experience.

The Wellness Park tour lasts for three hours and offers a completely personalized approach. Its objective is to enhance self-awareness through immersion in natural elements, offering a path to healing. This activity deserves to be savored without the pressure of time constraints and other activities. It is particularly recommended for individuals who are on a spiritual path and seek a moment of healing in their lives.
